There’s big news in the world of hormone-free birth control because we’re announcing that you can now connect the Natural Cycles app with your Apple Watch. Whether you’re new to Natural Cycles or a longtime Cycler, we’re here to unpack all you need to know about this game-changing integration.

Get your hands on this highly-requested feature

This Apple Watch integration has been our most requested feature EVER, and it’s no wonder. If you already own an Apple Watch with temperature-sensing capabilities, you’ll know why it made perfect sense for us to bring you overnight measuring with the state-of-the-art smartwatch. Now, we’ve made the dream a reality. Natural Cycles is FDA Cleared for use with Apple Watch in the U.S. Plus, this ground-breaking integration is also available in Europe and Australia, too!

Measure your wrist temperature with Apple Watch

Natural Cycles works by analyzing your body temperature to determine where you are in your cycle. So, to use the Apple Watch integration, you'll need an Apple Watch model with sensors that measure wrist temperature (Apple Watch Series 8 and higher). These sensors measure temperature continuously throughout the night, so the NC° algorithm has the data it needs to confirm your unique fertility status in the morning.

We recommend measuring overnight wearing the watch on your inner wrist, as there is increased blood flow in this area. If you're already measuring with Apple Watch, it's best to begin measuring this way at the start of your next cycle.

Unlock overnight measuring

Natural Cycles has revolutionized the birth control space, but until recently, you still had to measure orally with a basal thermometer each morning. Now that you can measure overnight with Apple Watch or an Oura Ring, hormone-free birth control has never been easier to use.

Simply wear your watch to bed and let it measure overnight. In the morning, the Natural Cycles algorithm will automatically sync your temperature and confirm your daily fertility status. Just check the NC° app when you wake up, and you'll know exactly where you are in your cycle and whether or not you can get pregnant that day. No hormones, no side effects, it’s that simple.

Get deeper insights about your body

If you’re already wearing an Apple Watch, you’re aware of all the insights and info you can unlock about your health. With our brand new integration, you can also connect to the Natural Cycles app, where you can plan or prevent pregnancy completely hormone-free.

On top of bringing you hormone-free birth control, Natural Cycles provides insights and messages, from PMS alerts to breast-check reminders, and full access to our Cycle Matters Female Health blog.

It's just as effective

Switching devices does not put you at greater risk of becoming pregnant. Natural Cycles is just as effective no matter whether you use it with the Oura Ring, Apple Watch, or the NC° Thermometer. That's because the Natural Cycles Algorithm behind the app has been trained with and validated by the FDA to be used with measurements from the Apple Watch. Recent research collected data from over 250 women over 500 menstrual cycles proves Natural Cycles to be 98% effective with perfect use and 93% effective with typical use.

Should I switch to Apple Watch or stick with my current device?

Everyone is different, and that’s why at Natural Cycles we provide a range of different measuring devices to suit every lifestyle. We’re super excited to add Apple Watch to our list of measuring devices, but that doesn’t mean you need to change how you measure if you’ve found a routine that works for you. We’ll continue to support a range of different devices, and are always researching new ways to measure so you get the most out of Natural Cycles.

Here’s how to get started

New to Natural Cycles? Download the Natural Cycles app to create your account.

If you’re already using NC° it’s easy to switch devices. Simply go to ‘My Device’ in the NC° app, choose settings, and select ‘Switch device'. We’ll then guide you through the steps to connect your watch, and you’ll be good to go!
